Parachute Deployment Clinic
The parachute deployment clinic will be Feb. 1 (Friday) starting at 6:30pm. Here is what to expect:  We will take turns hanging from George's control frame simulator (Thanks Sacramento Hanggliding!) and we will get tossed around a bit, to simulate  a glider failure. (We can ask Tom S. how closely it approximates!) Then we get to find out if we have the wherewithal to actually deploy the parachute.
After unhooking, Pete S. will give the harness & parachute-associated rigging (swivel, shroud, velcro enclosures, etc.) an inspection before removing the parachute for later re-packing. An invoice will also be written. Please bring $25.00.
I will plan on retrieving parachutes for anybody who wishes the next week, to save you the drive back down to Acampo (near Lodi).
If anybody wishes to arrange car- pooling, we can meet at my house. I live in Tahoe Park (Hwy 50 at 59th St.) I plan on arriving home from work at 5:30 and departing for the clinic at 5:45.
Directions to the clinic (as told by Pete): 99 south, go past Galt. Exit Jahant Rd, go south on the frontage road. See the airport on your right. Just past the above-ground fuel tanks, see 3 hangers. The clinic is in the center hanger. The door faces the highway.
I can be reached at my home tel# 916- 452-6401  for car pooling.
Did I mention the likelihood of pizza & beer at this event?
Hope to see ya'll there!               -Chris H.
